Having been a member for less than a week, I can't comment. However, please do leave comments - I'm anxious to learn about the value of this site and how people use the site.
Most of all, I enjoy the spirit and vitality of InHouston - the emphasis is on professional face-to-face exchanges with an upbeat and energetic audience.
The people! Though I am new to the InHouston community, I am so impressed with everyone. Always looking forward to new events. Thank you for putting the InHouston together.
The people I have met are friend and professional, it is easy to use the site and there are many local events to participate in, as well as other networking opportunities.
The best thing that I noticed immediately was the absence of "vultures", an absence made possible by the Servant Leadership/Pay It Forward approach. It was easy to have conversations about topics of interest without feeling like someone was hawking wares the entire time.
And personally meeting you, Eric, was very positive [you live up to all of the Dave Guerra promotion], and I am eager to spend more time with the group and with you personally, trying to see whom and how I can help as well.
I like being in contact with people in the Houston area that I can actually meet. I do participate in other social networking sites, and I enjoy them, but local contacts are the most valuable. I have been able to look for services from InHouston members, call them up and do business.
The wide range of high quality people from different backgrounds, and industries that are looking to help others and pay it forward. I have met hundreds of new people through InHouston in my job search and I won't stop networking ever....
