Powerful Women International, Houston-Connection

Powerful Women International is headquartered in San Francisco, California and was started by Valeri Bocage, a native of New Orleans who lost it all in Katrina except her indomnitable spirit. Valeri started a form of PWI as Positive Women in New Orleans, but when she took her dream of helping other women achieve their dreams despite any circumstance with her to San Francisco and Powerful Women International was launched. It began as a project in the Self Expression and Leadership program she was taking through Landmark Education. After the 6 month program, people wanted to help to make PWI an international reality.

Today PWI has "Connection" chapters in Houston, Los Angeles, Chicago, New Orleans, Albany, NY; Raleigh, North Carolina; Nairobi, Kenya; and Paris, France. New Connections are forming in New Zealand, NOrth Dakota and they just keep coming as word spreads about PWI's mission.

Our tagline is "Empowering Women to Empower the World." We believe that when women are connected to their passion and purpose, new possibilities open up and when a woman is on her path to achieving her dreams, the world will be a better place.

The Houston Connection was kicked off in the summer of 2007 with our first event. We have empowerment and networking events once a month to inspire, learn, share and connect powerfully to help each other in our businesses and our dreams.

This site on InHouston is one of 2 Ning sites. We also have our own Ning site at www.powerfulwomeninternational.ning.com which includes women from all over the U.S.

It's free to join these Ning sites. We encourage you to become actively involved with PWI by doing the following:

1. Participate on one or both Ning sites.
2. Attend our local events.
3. Become an official member of PWI. Membership is only $99 a year and provides you with exclusive benefits.
4. As an official member of PWI, become involved in the growth of the Houston-Connection.
5. Help us grow the Ning sites to 1,000 members by the end of the year.
6. Help us grow the official membership base in Houston to 200 members by the end of the year.
7. Help us obtain 10 Saffire Sponosrs in Houston. Please ask for details.
