Niche (Services/Products your company provides:)
Rebuilding Together - Houston (RT - H) is Houston’s largest community outreach organization working to preserve affordable homeownership and revitalize neighborhoods. We do this by providing home repair and renovation services at no cost to low-income homeowners in need, such as the elderly, individuals with disabilities, veterans, and people impacted by natural disasters.
About Me:
I was a live-music concert promoter for 22 years. Currently, redefining my professional self in the non-profit world in development and communications. I have strong organizational, multi-tasking and strategy skills.

Perfect Client
Our clients are actually the low income homeowners we help within Harris County. Housing for the elderly is a growing need in our community as our population ages. Communities and families benefit greatly by helping seniors age in place in their own homes. Residential Repair has been identified as a top service priority by the Harris County Area Agency on Aging for Fiscal years 1011-2012. Care for Elders completed a comprehensive consumer survey and report in 2009 – 2010 and identified that the greatest housing need in Houston is to “make seniors’ homes easier to stay in as they age.” Rebuilding Together - Houston provides services to keep low-income homeowners safely in their homes for an additional 10–20 years thereby allowing them to age in place and fostering neighborhood stabilization and revitalization.
Target Market(s)
Mid to Large size Corporations and Faith-based Organizations. Our main program is the Volunteer Home Repair Program (VHRP) which uses sponsored crews with 15-25 volunteers who work one or two Saturdays in April and in October, restoring the exteriors of homes. The crew sponsor provides the volunteers with tools and personal necessities. RT - H qualifies the homeowner, describes the exterior repairs and provides the repair materials. Typical crew activities include scraping and painting, siding replacement, door & window repairs, caulking and wheelchair ramps.
Urgent Needs and Compelling Desires of Target Market(s)
RT - H is looking for both volunteered crews sponsored by corporate or faith-based organizations. Sponsorship involves supplying the manpower, tools, food and drinks for the crew. We are also looking for organizations to invest in our general operating and four programs that help the low-income age in place.
Opportunities said Target Market(s) would love to invest in
Prior to engaging the VHRP, RT - H hires licensed contractors to provide repair services which may include safety modifications, interior repairs and roof replacement. Once the homes are deemed safe and dry, we engage sponsored volunteer crews to complete repairs on the exteriors of these homes with materials we provide.
Benefits of investible opportunities to Target Market(s)
VHRP offers a hard, but engaging way for your crew to team build. It also gives each member of the crew a sense of personal accomplishment and gratification.
"Other interests" (Traveling, wine, books, etc...):
In my spare time, I love reading, taking photographs and hanging out with my husband and four kids. I am an avid Instagramer. I love red wine and really good food, even if it is served at a dive.
What does your company do to focus on its purpose?
We offer two opportunities for the VHRP; one in the spring and one in the fall. However, we can accommodate interested crews during other times of the year. We own a warehouse where we house all of our materials for the program. We are constantly screening applicants, hiring contractors to work on houses for our Roofs Over Houston, Interior Repair Program and Safer Homes Program.
