Well-researched, well-written and timely magazine, newspaper and e-news articles and written to the specifications of media, corporate and nonprofit clients.
I'm a native Houstonian and a writer all of my life, most recently for the Houston Chronicle's Neighborhood News sections until the economic downturn forced the paper to make massive layoffs. I also have experience as a feature and news reporter at other daily or weekly newspapers, as a writer of museum text copy, as a writer of articles for History News magazine for history professionals and as a journalist in the U.S. Navy. Currently, I'm seeking fulltime employment while starting my freelance business and finally writing the great American novel.
History, historic preservation, quirky or undiscovered businesses, people benefiting their community, education, travel, the arts, veterans affairs. Also books, movies and the newest diet craze.
What does your company do to focus on its purpose?
My company is me, and I send out letters of inquiry with story ideas to magazines when I'm not fulfilling writing contracts. I'm constantly seeking work as a writer/reporter, because it's the only field I know and love.
Veteran? Which Branch?

Thank you for the birthday wishes. I'm looking forward to taking a little time out from freelancing and looking for a permanent, full-time writing gig to enjoy a birthday chocolate bar, which just happens to be any chocolate bar I choose.
