I'm a 26 year resident of the Houston area. I was a research technician, employed by Pennzoil-Quaker State company for 25 years. I bought L&A Products, a 30-year-old business, in 2003. It is my first experience as a business owner. Oh how much I have learned, mostly from mistakes!

Brilliant Facebook Campaign

IKEA opened a new store and got very creative with use of the photo-tagging feature on facebook. They were giving away IKEA stuff so the word spread like wildfire and got the attention of a lot of people in the community. Pretty neat.

Local Goat Dairies

As part of my business, I have been visiting vendors at several of the local Farmer's markets. The Bayou City Market, open Saturdays AM from 8 - 12 off Richmond, is a fantastic market with a wide diversity of products grown or made by people in or around Houston. There is another market open Tuesday Evenings, near the Rice U athletic facilities, where you will find many of the same vendors and others.
