The Renewable Energy Business Network enables researchers and business professionals with an interest in renewable energy to connect with one another, to promote the growth of the renewable energy industry. REBN provides opportunities for networking, collaboration, education and business opportunities.
About Me:
REBN is a network of renewable energy/clean tech professionals and enthusiasts. We organize events for members - from casual networking functions and learning/discussion sessions, to hands-on activities such as field trips to local renewable energy companies. We aim to help create local habitats for promoting renewable energy businesses and entrepreneurships. We work closely with local research institutes, organizations (both governmental and non-governmental), and businesses.
REBN-South is the Houston chapter of the Renewable Energy Business Network (http://rebn.org). REBN was founded in the bay area by several renewable energy entrepreneurs. Local chapters in more cities are being established.
Houston is poised to be the nation's leader in renewable energy. We are already the hydrocarbon based energy leader. We have the ability, and the responsibility, to lead the transition from carbon positive energy to carbon neutral Energy. Much of the infrastructure is already in place. We are a technology leader. We have a higher concentration of energy knowledge than any other city. So what are we missing?
You!

Invite to Houston US Green Building "friend-raising" event on Dec 9th (RSVP by Dec 2nd)
I recently accepted a request from the US Green Building Council in Houston to act as a table captain for its upcoming Partners in Green Luncheon on December 9th. The event is designed to help the chapter engage people in the mission of green building. I think it’s important and I wanted to invite you to sit at my table as my guest. I won’t be able to make it, but the Executive Director will seat a “veteran” at my table as your host/hostess.
You will be asked to support the chapter at the end of the lunch but your contribution is up to you and you can decide for yourself whether you want to participate. I am mainly interested in having someone show you how the chapter is working in Houston and the Texas Gulf Coast .
The event is on December 9th, Wednesday. It is a one hour event beginning at noon at the Crystal Ballroom in the Rice Hotel, 900 Texas Avenue. The event is catered by Sambuca. http://www.sambucarestaurant.com/map.php
The doors will be open at 11:30 a.m. Please respond before December 2nd so the chapter can reserve your space at my table.
Thanks and hope you can make it!
