Dear Friends:
I am very pleased to send you information about our upcoming Celebration of the Bicentennial of the Independence of Mexico. It is our major annual fundraising event and will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Westin Galleria Hotel (Alabama Street) from 6:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. We are very close to that date but there is still time to have your company participating as a sponsor of our annual major fundraising event and/or for you and your friends to purchase individual tickets at $175.00. I am inviting you to please let us know about your participation so that we can include your company’s logo on some of our Gala related publications, as appropriate.
We would certainly like to see you and your business associates and friends at your table in our Celebration. As you may know every year we honor Mexico and Central America because they all celebrate their independence days in September. This year, being the Celebration of the Bicentennial you may want to consider not only purchasing a table and inviting some key persons for your company but also encouraging your friends and business acquaintances to do the same because this year there are more reasons than in the past to do it.
The acting Consul General of Mexico in Houston, Mr. Norberto Terrazas is this year’s Honorary Gala Chair. Also, inside our Gala program, the Mexican Government will give the Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Chairwoman Mrs. Irma Díaz-González the prestigious OHTLI Award. This is a very special and great honor for any Mexican to receive. After a careful nomination process the Mexican government selects the recipients for the year. In Houston the previous recipient a couple of years ago was Dr. Dorothy Caram.
You may want to be present when Mrs. Díaz-González receives such an outstanding award from her country of origin. She is also our Vice Chairperson of the Board. Please find attached to this e-mail information about the different levels of sponsorship and feel free to call me for any additional information you may want to have. We usually have about 500 people in attendance.
Please also be informed that because the Governor of the State of Mexico, Licenciado Enrique Peña Nieto will not be able to attend, he is sending in his representation Dr. Arnulfo Valdivia Machuca, Coordinator of International Affairs for the State of Mexico. We will also give our Community Commitment Awards to a company/organization and to an individual that have demonstrated a remarkable dedication to benefit the Houston Area Hispanic Community in the fields of education, culture, health, immigration and/or workforce development.
There will be a Silent Auction where you would be able to bid on beautiful paintings, and a raffle of a trip for two via Aeromexico to Veracruz. Your ticket to the Gala gives you a free raffle ticket. The winner will spend 5 days and 4 nights at the Gran Hotel Diligencias which is located in the Historic Center of the port city of Veracruz. It is a hotel with a unique architectural beauty that preserves and highlights a long time tradition of excellent hospitality.
Let me thank you in advance for your positive decision and let me hear from you soon. If you would like to share this information with some business associates and acquaintances, please feel free to do so. Donations are also accepted.
Sincerely,
Ruberman Aldana
