The 2014 Election cycle has begun with the opening of filing for Precinct Chair. Being a precinct chair is vital for the grassroots efforts in Harris County. Because of our huge size, we need good people to stand up and work their neighborhoods as precinct chairs to help mobilize the vote to defeat the Democrats. With 1.2 million ballots in 2012, the difference between Red and Blue was only 971 votes.
To be a precinct chair, you must be a registered voter in the precinct you are filing for and you cannot vote in the Democrat Primary in 2014. All precincts are open for election. This means that ALL Current Precinct Chairs MUST file for re-election!
The filing deadline is Monday, December 9th at 6:00 PMM. The forms are available on our website, or copies are available at the HCRP office. Please complete your notarized form and return it to the HCRP office before the deadline so that your name will appear on the Primary ballot for election.
The filing form will be discussed and notaries will be available at the next HCRP Executive Committee meeting on Monday, September 23rd at HBU. The meeting call for the precinct chairs has been placed in the mail.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the HCRP office: 713-838-7900.
