Is all the hype about Social Media confusing?

Every day I receive articles, blogs, links, and email messages about Social Media Networking. They promise to teach me: Which networks to start with and how to find your 'social media' stride; How to become recognized as an expert, no matter what your experience OR your niche; How to generate unlimited quality leads for your product or service; How to find powerful alliances for joint ventures, affiliate marketing or connections; How to set up your profile, photo, background and draw people to you; How to create groups of 'fans, followers, friends and fellow-peeps' almost effortlessly; How to leverage social media to 'attract' traffic to your sites; How to use 'curiosity marketing' to turn contacts into cash - all things that most people want to know, but have trouble finding a good source.

On May 6th Donna Fisher gave a presentation for over 50 people at the First Wednesday Corporate Network and dispelled some of the myths about Socia Media Networking. The main reason to use Social Media is because it is free. We are all looking for ways to maximize our marketing dollar and Social Media is one of the methods we should be usin. In April Eric Standlee gave a presentaion to the Wild West InHouston Mixer in which he told about how he had generated over $10 million in new sales using LinkedIn. That's $10 million a month! When you know how, it works.

Last week we hosted an event for a training in cellular health. Over 220 tickets were purchased to the event, many thousands of dollars worth of products were sold, and hundreds of people became educated customers. All of it was accomplished in three weeks using Social Media Marketing. It is a powerful way to distribute news, build attendance for events, and offer products. Would this be beneficial to your business?

On May 27th Cyndi Gutowski is hosting the Wild West InHouston Mixer and we will discuss the most effective ways to use Social Media Networking (Marketing) to generate income. Jon me by going to www.inhouston.ning.com and select Events to register.
