After 12 years as a Data Processing & Information Technology Professional, I made a career change and started helping other computer professionals optimize their careers. During these 27 years of building this recruiting business, I learned how to attract computer professional to my service using high tech & high touch strategies. Like many other business, my industry went from a consolatory service, valued by the return on investment; to being just a commodity, valued only by the price. These changes slowly over shadowed the joy of helping my candidates advance their careers. I have always embraced change and viewed change as a friend not a foe! But when you are no longer having fun and do not need the money, it is time to refocus on monetizeing the relationships that were developed as recruiter and IT professional. Most of the candidates whom I marketed career opportunets and client managers whom I had to build a network of IT professionals to find quailfiled candidates with scarce skills; have hit that glass celling. They do not get paid what they are worth but what the job is worth to their employers. They have little spare time but have great soft skills & skills in technology. They known now to work as a team but in today changing economy what worked for our parents success will not provide our future. I had several years to research and validate
different opportunities, their ROI of time & money, their growth & stability and I believe I have found a couple worth considering, but most other opportunities do not use technology to leverage our time or they use old paradigmes this don't work in today's world.
I have spent the last few years investigating the many paradigm shifts, looking for a business niche, where there is a real vacuum or an urgent need. A business niche where, I can find joy by helping my business acquaintances.
I have also noticed that many of my candidates and client contacts were under employed. These professional acquaintances have made great advancements in their careers; often at the expense of the lifestyle that they had dreamed of when they started their careers. Most people would say that these business friends were at the top of their careers. I met many of these professional years ago, and have watched their careers bloom, but I know that their employers waste much of these talented peoples potential, and have not provided them with the lifestyle that they desire. Most of these acquaintances I consider friends and I would love to continue our business relationship, but I needed a project that we could both profit from and both create a better lifestyle.
Since most of my acquaintances are already gainfully under-employed and I am gainfully under-retired, neither of us is looking for a project that will eat up our time. One common bond with my information technology friends is that we both know how to use technology to increase productivity and to integrate new or existing business into internet technology. I have currently identified several client projects where I need associates to compliment my skills.

What are you up to these days? I've been wanting to attend a networking event, but keep on missing them.
